I will be answering on behalf of my mum, Lina, who is the designer and owner of Rompi & Brokat :)
Tell us a bit about Rompi & Brokat?

The use of traditional materials, such as Batik and Brokat, pays homage to Indonesia’s diverse cultural history, while contemporary design elements ensure that the clothing remains relevant and versatile for today's lifestyle.
This blend allows for a unique expression of identity that honours the past while looking towards the future.
Why the name “Rompi & Brokat”?
The name Rompi & Brokatis combines two aspects of our brand. "Rompi," the Indonesian term for vest, and "Brokat," a traditional brocade fabric known for its intricate patterns and rich textures.
This combination reflects our commitment to merging classic garment styles with culturally significant materials.
Where do you draw inspiration from?

We draw inspiration from the rich tapestry of Indonesian culture, both its traditional roots and its dynamic contemporary expressions.
Indonesia, with its diverse regions, unique languages and customs, serves as a profound source of creativity for us.
From the vibrant traditions of the Batak people in Sumatra to the artistic heritage of Bali, every aspect of Indonesia inspires our vision and identity.
Please tell us the vision for Rompi & Brokat :)
The intention behind Rompi & Brokat was to provide a platform for designs inspired by our heritage.
We noticed a lack of Indonesian designs in the West and felt a strong desire to bring these unique influences to a broader audience.
Our goal is to showcase the rich diversity of Indonesian culture and highlight its beauty through our creations.
